Use of stronger cryptographic keys in Java

Note

As of Java 8 update 151 onwards strength cryptographic keys are included.
For this, WebAssistant version 2017/431 or later must be used.

For previous Java versions it is necessary to install the strong cryptographic keys separately.

Download: Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files for JDK/JRE 8

Decompress the ZIP archive

Copy with administration rights both jar files:

  • US_export_policy.jar
  • local_policy.jar

To the program directory of Java:

  • jre/lib/security/
Note

These jar-files will be already there so you have to overwrite them

Start the WebAssistant afterwards once more.

Note

If you use Java of another manufacturer, its policy files are to be used.
